Here is some feedback we've received about our stallion Conquistador XII  aka Dante:

Senior Juan  Llamas, Spanish Judge, author & breed authority, said of his walk… "I give horse an 8 for his walk… that is the highest score I ever give for the walk."   He emphasized that Dante has a lot of substance to offer the lighter boned mares he sees here in the USA, and he would be a good match for them.  "This is a fine quality horse with few things I would change, all of them being minor."    ~  Juan  Llamas

"This horse has what it takes to compete in open competition, even at lower levels against the Warmbloods."

~ Dressage Judge Debra Rodriguez

" I consider myself blessed to have spent time working as Dante's trainer.  From the first day,  he captured my heart with his kind, willing,  personality, combined with his arresting presence and athletic ability.  He is a quick learner, and commits himself to giving his all towards whatever is asked of him. I am impressed with his offspring from both Andalusian and  non-Andalusian mares. They reflect his eye-catching baroque style along with  his generous spirit.  I have bred my Friesian mare to him for a 2007 foal  and am anxiously awaiting the product. " ~ Kari Crawford

The Spanish team from the Cria Caballar gave him top scores at Revision 2001 and praised him for his breed type.

"This is a very nice horse.  I have been to Spain and seen the horses there… he is high quality.  You are very, very fortunate to have him in your barn."

~ Breed Judge Wayne Hipsley

"Andalusians de Mythos is a fine Andalusian breeding farm. My experiences with the owner and my visits to the farm have shown me what a truly professional breeding farm is, from the detailed care given these fine animals to the generosity of the owner in sharing her vast knowledge of this wonderful breed.

I am truly impressed with "The Spanish Gentleman, "Conquistador XII, by Indiano XVIII.  This gorgeous black Andalusian stallion of the Bocado lineage is everything I love in a breeding stallion.

His beauty made me gasp when I first saw him. He stood quietly in a paddock, just feet from the mares of the farm, as if watching over them as caretaker and protector and doing it with an air of quiet confidence and absolute contentment to be with his herd.  During my recent visit to the farm, I saw two of his foals and their mothers be put into paddocks next to and near him for the first time.  As I watched, this gallant stallion nickered quietly to his offspring, knowing these were his babies upon first sight of them.  He observed them as they settled, quietly walking the fence to take them in and to experience their precious beauty as they gazed back at him, then turning and bolting like foals do in that awkward way, as if to show off to him.  He soon returned to grazing.  Conquistador is as gentle and comfortable being in close proximity to his babies and mares as any stallion I have ever seen.

Two times, I had the opportunity to go with the owner to transport Conquistador for collection at a breeding facility.  The horse loads and unloads just perfectly and was a perfect gentleman at the breeding facility where, on one day, he was bred to a mare from his own farm.  He loaded with that same mare to travel home for over an hour and was silent and calm the entire trip.

It is an owner's dream to have a stallion so easy to manage and which is so content.  I fed him, watered him, pet him and talked to him quite a bit while I was there and found him to be a kind spirit that is extremely intelligent and which seems really to enjoy people and their attention.  There was no nipping and no refusal to let me touch him anywhere.   For me, this was a treat because I love to touch an Andalusian's perfect head and luxurious mane and forelock.  He let me linger as long as I pleased to pet him and talk to him when he had probably a half acre in which to move away from me in his paddock.

My visits to Andalusians de Mythos and my meeting "The Spanish Gentleman"  are memorable experiences.  The gentle spirit and kindness of the owner has shown up in the personalities of the horses of the farm --stallion, mares, and foals.  These animals have received a lot of love and tender care and it shows in their responses to each other and to humans."
