Cortesana XXVI  ~ Pure Spanish 2006 PRE grey filly

Cortesana is an enchanting creature with a charismatic nature.  She greets me each time I head toward the barn or pasture with her leg drawn up, and holds it there as if to wave hello. Her charm is undeniable, she has a captivating allure and she is extremely intelligent.

Cortesana has exemplary breed type, graceful roundness as each part flows into the next.  She is pictured here at 16 months old and was measured at 16H with stick and is still growing.

Her quality is no surprise when you examine her world class pedigree…. She  is sired by Magno IV, (pictured below) a magnificent stallion bred by Miguel Angel Cardenas and a breed champion in his own right.

Cortesana’s dam, Mesonera XX, is the half-sister to Caracol XXIV, who was awarded Resv. Champion of the Breed at SICAB - Spain, Nov 2006.

Mersonera’s dam Caracola XII is sired by Panadero VIII, who is also the sire of sire of both Olympic Silver Medal winner Invasor II, as well as internationally renowned Gaucho III, who was part of Spain’s Olympic training team prior to being exported to the USA by Juan Matute.

Mesonera’s  sire is the Romero Benitez stallion, Salinero XV.  Her bloodlines fit perfectly into our program, uniting the Cardenas and Romero Benitez studs.
