In Conquistador's first year at Mythos, our focus on training was rewarded by his rapid development under saddle. Dante is a willing mount eager to please and ready for adventure. He's a social creature with a laid back attitude and a love to be a the center of attention. Among his new experiences in his two years with us, he adjusted to 8,600 ft altitude and adapted to the local wildlife (bears, elk, deer & cattle) on mountain trail rides. At age 4, he was introduced to courtship with the mares. Dante began dressage training in April 2003 under the capable hand of Kari Crawford. A few lessons under Dressage Judge Debbie Riehl-Rodriguez has revealed his potential. Judge Rodriguez stated that he has what it takes to compete against the warmbloods. Dante performs Medieval Games Exhibitions, re-enacting Medieval Spain 1430's. Our versatile trainer Kari Crawford performed at the 2003 IALHA Nationals in the Evening Extravaganza. In 2004 our troupe entertained at the Boulder County Fair, Colorado State Fair, Colorado Horse Rescue Benefit, and the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo. Click for Medieval Games images. In 2003, Spanish Judge Javier Garcia Romero stated that Dante is a very nice horse, slow maturing, his biggest criticism is that Dante needed conditioning, muscle & maturity. He was going through a lanky & lean growth stage and coming off breeding season. In 2002, Judge Juan Llamas praised him in a private evaluation as a very nice horse and gave him an 8 for his walk, the highest score he ever gives a horse for the walk. Judge Wayne Hipsley, who studied in Spain, remarked that he is a very exciting horse, stating that I'm very fortunate to have a horse of this caliber and should be very proud to have in my barn. In limited showing, Dante shows promise with his exceptional movement and athletic talent. In his first showings: |
