Conquistador XII--Spanish Studbook Conquistador PMF--USA Registry (IALHA) Conquistador's quality is reflected in his impeccable bloodlines…from a lineage of exceptional conformation, movement, & temperament...the result of centuries of dedication. His dam Jordana was bred at Hacienda Santa Lucia, the ranch of Frederico Jimenez Sainz (Mexico). Jordana is the daughter of the incomparable Genil (Champion of both Spain & Mexico, deceased in 2001). Genil was bred by the famous stud farm of Miguel Angel Cardenas, top winning breeder of Spain. Jordana is known for her beautiful elevated, floating movement and stands at 16.2H. She was purchased by Paul & June Clelland, of Alberta Canada, while Conquistador was in-utero. Conquistador's sire, Indiano XVIII (1985) was bred by Don Joaquin Conesa of Nobleza del Guadiana. (Spain). Snr. Conesa was awarded "Breeder of the Year" by ANCCE at their national breed show, SICAB 2004 (also Spain's largest annual PRE exhibition). Indiano's sire & dam were bred by Romero Benitez, a multi-generational breeder of champions tracing his stock back to the Bocado horses from the turn of the century. Before being exported from Spain, Indiano was undefeated in conformation and movement. He was honored on 6 occasions with 1st placements, Gold Medal, & champion of the breed awards. Twice he was Supreme Champion of Functionality. After his importation to Mexico, he was awarded Grand National Champion of Champions in Mexico. Indiano has sons & daughters in Spain winning at top levels. |

Thank you June & Paul Clelland, Pine Meadow Farms, Alberta Canada, for allowing me to acquire Conquistador in 2002 on his 4th birthday. He is the first black offspring produced by Indiano XVIII. I'm very grateful for the privilege of having this exquisite stallion in my life. |
